This One-day course aims to provide an opportunity to build on existing skills and knowledge for those social workers and other practitioners with the knowledge and tools to assess CAPHB risks, engage with families in conflict, make informed decisions on appropriate interventions and further explore those interventions.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the session, participants will:
- Know how to make appropriate interventions for children and parents affected by CAPHB.
- Be able to assess and respond safely to CAPHB cases.
- Start exploring NVR principles – ie. reconciliation gestures and maintain a balance between addressing behaviour and preserving the parent-child relationship.
- Demonstrate how to conduct a strength-based interview with parents and support families in accessing resources.

- Anna Sugarman - Highly Specialist Systemic Family Psychotherapist at Merton CAMHS in Social Care Team
