Please note, due to the sensitive nature of the course content you are required to attend both full days of training.

This 2-day course offers an introduction to Trauma-Informed Practice that is relevant to practitioners working in all settings with children, young people and their families. This training aims to support our workforce to become more trauma-informed: confident at recognising where people are affected by trauma and able to respond in ways that support recovery and prevent further harm. Please note: participants must attend both full days of the training.

Learning objectives:

  • Understand the impact of trauma on development from birth through to adulthood
  • Recognise the signs and symptoms of trauma in children and adults
  • Articulate the principles of trauma-informed practice and how to use these in our work
  • Explore the concept of resilience and share tools to promote this
  • Reflect on the impact of trauma and stress on us as workers and how we can manage this

This training is suitable for Level 2 of the London Competency Framework Training Levels.
