Building Trusting Relationships

This half-day, in-person training will focus on how we build and maintain trusting relationships with families we work with. You will take part in activities to build knowledge and skills in relationship-based practice and have the opportunity to learn directly from the experiences of parents who will join us in the session.

Learning objectives:

• Introduce the principles of relationship-based practice in Merton
• Reflect on how these principles can be used in the context of your work with children and families to build relationships and promote engagement
• Refresh your communication skills, including how we use language, its impact and effective responses to high emotion, conflict and challenge
• Build confidence in working together as part of a multiagency network around children and families to promote change and achieve best outcomes.
